There's something truly special about road trips with friends—long chats, favorite playlists, spontaneous detours, and endless laughter. Our recent Delhi to Mathura Agra and Jaipur tour was exactly that and more—a perfect blend of history, fun, and unforgettable memories.
Starting the Journey: Delhi to Mathura
We kicked off early from Delhi, with bags packed, snacks stocked, and energy at its peak. The drive to Mathura took about 3 hours. Known as the birthplace of Lord Krishna, Mathura is more than just a religious spot—it's a cultural experience.
We visited the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, which radiates spiritual vibes and fascinating mythology. Later, we walked along Vishram Ghat, watched the peaceful Yamuna Aarti, and soaked in the town’s old-world charm. Don’t miss out on Mathura’s famous pedas—soft, sweet, and absolutely delicious!
Next Stop: Agra – The City of Love
After Mathura, it was a short drive (about 1.5 hours) to Agra. As expected, the Taj Mahal stole the show. No matter how many times you’ve seen it in pictures, witnessing it in person is a surreal experience. We clicked tons of photos, of course, and just sat silently for a while, admiring its timeless beauty.
Apart from the Taj, we explored the Agra Fort and the Mehtab Bagh, which gives a perfect view of the Taj at sunset. At night, we devoured some spicy mughlai food at a local eatery—highly recommend trying tandoori dishes here!
Final Destination: Jaipur – The Pink City
Next morning, we hit the road again, heading towards Jaipur. The 4.5-hour journey was full of scenic views and roadside chai stops. Jaipur welcomed us with its vibrant colors, bustling markets, and majestic forts.
We visited the Amber Fort, where an elephant ride took us to the top like royalty. The City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and Jantar Mantar were equally captivating. Our favorite part? Shopping at Bapu Bazaar and Johari Bazaar—from colorful juttis to block-printed kurtas, we bought more than we should have!
At night, we went for a traditional Rajasthani dinner at Chokhi Dhani, where we enjoyed folk music, dance, and authentic dal baati churma.
The Ride Back to Delhi
As we drove back to Delhi, tired but happy, we realized this trip was not just about the destinations, but the journey itself. The inside jokes, the endless playlists, the night chats in hotel rooms—all of it made the tour unforgettable.
